Turin Baroque Music Festival

Covid-19 Emergency

Dear Friends of the Accademia del Santo Spirito, welcome to the Turin Baroque Music Festival website. The seven concerts of this new project of the Accademia should have taken place between April and May 2020. But, as is known, the measures taken by the Italian Government to deal with the epidemic emergency from Covid-19 impose for the next weeks the cancellation of most cultural and artistic activities. The Accademia is rescheduling the calendar of the entire festival. We will provide you with all the information as soon as possible.

The Spirit of the Baroque Music

2020, the year in which the Accademia del Santo Spirito celebrates the thirty-fifth anniversary of its foundation, will be the Year of Baroque for Turin and Piedmont. The Accademia del Santo Spirito presents the first edition of the Turin Baroque Music Festival which will be inaugurated in the Church of Sant'Uberto at the Reggia di Venaria Reale and will continue in Turin, touching some of the most prestigious Baroque buildings in the city, including Palazzo Reale, Palazzo Madama and Villa della Regina.

Accademia del Santo Spirito - Thirty-fifth Anniversary

The Accademia del Santo Spirito, based in the Church of the Holy Spirit in the historic center of Turin, was founded in 1985 to encourage the study and enhancement of the musical heritage of the 17th and 18th centuries. The Accademia celebrates thirty-five years since its foundation with the realization of a large and ambitious project: the Turin Baroque Music Festival. Turin, the undisputed capital of Baroque architecture, will be the theater of the musical universe to which the Accademia del Santo Spirito has dedicated its history.
